Abstract

La Alianza de Investigación Académica en Centroamérica (CARA) condena la sentencia de Félix Maradiaga a 13 años de prisión en Nicaragua, quien es uno de los 176 presos políticos, en dicho país, que se han atrevido a participar en procesos democráticos después de años de intimidación y violencia abierta por parte del gobierno por su activismo basado en evidencia; asimismo, CARA se solidariza con los presos políticos en Nicaragua y hacen un llamado a los gobiernos de América Central para que exijan su liberación. = The Alliance for Academic Research in Central America (CARA) condemns the sentence of Félix Maradiaga to 13 years in prison in Nicaragua, who is one of the 176 political prisoners in that country who have dared to participate in democratic processes after years of open intimidation and violence by the government for its evidence-based activism; Likewise, CARA stands in solidarity with the political prisoners in Nicaragua and calls on the governments of Central America to demand their release.
