El CCINOC expresa alarma ante la propuesta de ley de agentes extranjeros en El Salvador = CCINOC expresses alarm at the proposed foreign agents law in El Salvador

Las organizaciones que integran el Centro contra la Corrupción y la Impunidad en el norte de Centroamérica (CCINOC) expresan su preocupación y alarma por el proyecto de Ley de Agentes Extranjeros en El Salvador. De ser aprobada como la propuso el Ejecutivo salvadoreño a la Asamblea Legislativa el 9 de noviembre de 2021, la iniciativa aplicaría restricciones que imposibilitarían el trabajo de las organizaciones de la sociedad civil y la prensa independiente para combatir la corrupción y la impunidad. Ante estos riesgos y peligros, el CCINOC solicita a La Asamblea Legislativa de El Salvador: • No aprobar esta propuesta de Ley de Agentes en Extranjeros • Convocar a las organizaciones de la sociedad civil para dialogar de manera democrática y respetuosa sobre cómo fortalecer las herramientas de transparencia y el trabajo conjunto entre la sociedad civil organizada y el gobierno. = The organizations that make up the Center against Corruption and Impunity in the North of Central America (CCINOC) express their concern and alarm over the draft Law on Foreign Agents in El Salvador. If approved as proposed by the Salvadoran Executive to the Legislative Assembly on November 9, 2021, the initiative would apply restrictions that would make it impossible for civil society organizations and the independent press to work to combat corruption and impunity. Faced with these risks and dangers, the CCINOC asks the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador: • Not to approve this proposal for the Law of Foreign Agents • To convene civil society organizations to dialogue in a democratic and respectful way on how to strengthen the tools of transparency and joint work between organized civil society and the government.
